Dear Ski-Doo® Dealer / Distributor,
Tech 4 Kids Inc. informed Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. ("BRP") that they were conducting a safety recall on the Outer Edge Ski-Doo Snow MX product in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.
Which models are involved?
Model Year 2011 Ski-Doo MX Z x 600RS snowmobiles.
What is the potential problem?
The front ski may break under certain conditions, which may lead in possible loss of control and injury.
To confirm that your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is affected, contact your authorized Ski-Doo dealer or BRP at 1-888-272-9222 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern time 7 days a week.
What is the reason for this notice?
Tech 4 Kids Inc. informed Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. ("BRP") that they were conducting a safety recall on the Outer Edge Ski-Doo Snow MX product in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.
What Tech 4 Kids will do?
In Canada, your customer has to call directly the 1-866-287-4761 to receive a replacement ski and a free T-shirt or he may go to your dealership to receive a reimbursement. In the US, your customer is only entitled to a reimbursement. In case of a reimbursement, customer must return the unit.
What should you do?
- Stop selling this product immediately.
- Post the enclosed poster in a conspicuous location until at least May 21, 2011.
- Contact all of your customers who have purchased this product. You must request that they immediately stop using their Ski-Doo Snow MX.
