SAFETY RECALL NOTICE
E-TEC Fuel Injector Hose Retainer Screw May Loosen - Possible Fuel Leak

Dear BRP Customer,

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person. BRP is conducting a safety recall.

This is also an emission-related recall in accordance with the U.S. Environmental Agency (EPA).

Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.

What is the potential problem?

The E-TEC fuel injector hose retainer screw may loosen due to an inappropriate tightening on the assembly line and cause a fuel leak.

Fire could occur in the presence of an ignition source. In some situations, this could result in serious property damages, injuries or even death.

Which models are involved?

Specific serial numbers of Model Year 2022 and 2021 Ski-Doo models equipped with 850 E-TEC and 850 E-TEC Turbo engines

What should you do?

  • Contact immediately your authorized BRP Ski-Doo dealer and schedule an appointment to have the safety recall performed on your vehicle.

  • BRP will repair your vehicle at no cost.

  • The repair is to inspect and, if necessary, install new E-TEC fuel injector hose retainer screw.

  • The repair should take less than 1 hour to perform.

    If you leased this vehicle:

  • Send a copy of this letter to the lessee within ten working days after the day you received this letter.

  • Do the same with any future letters about this safety recall.

Can I continue to ride my vehicle?

BRP recommends that you avoid using your vehicle until the safety recall is completed.

Note: This issue can lead to a fuel leak and may cause the vehicle to release air pollutants exceeding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards resulting in potentially failing a state or local emissions inspection.

As defined in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, as a manufacturer, we are alsorequired to correct vehicles that may be emitting pollutants in excess of emission standards. These emission standards were established to protect the public health or welfare from air pollution.
