Re: Non-Compliance Emission
Dear Ski-Doo® Owner,
In cooperation with Transport Canada, Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. is conducting a noncompliance recall campaign of certain model year 2011 SKI-DOO MX Z x 600RS snowmobiles sold in Canada. Our records indicate that you are the owner of an affected vehicle.
Which models are involved?
Model year 2011 Ski-Doo MX Z x 600RS.
What is the potential problem?
Due to standard transmission calibration set in factory, some vehicles may be not conforming to noise regulations applicable in Canada. As a manufacturer, we are required to correct vehicles that may be emitting noise in excess of standards. These standards were established to protect the public health or welfare from noise emission excess.
To confirm that your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is affected, contact your authorized Ski-Doo dealer or BRP at 1-888-272-9222 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern time 7 days a week.
What will BRP do?
Your vehicle will be retrofitted to meet noise regulations at the dealership where you bring the affected unit. The repair will take less than 1 hour of work. The repair is an update of the transmission calibration to limit maximum engine speed to 6200 RPM to reduce engine noise at no charge to you.
What should you do?
You must call an authorized BRP Ski-Doo dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle serviced.
What to do if you feel this notice is an error?
This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available. If you no longer own this vehicle or some information in this notice is incorrect, please contact BRP at your earliest convenience.
