How Do I Use the BRP GO! App?

BRP GO! is your ticket to a connected riding experience. This navigation app helps you plan excursions and get turn-by-turn navigation on official snowmobile trails and it even allows you to track your friends’ location on a map. You can use the app while casting your phone screen on the 7.8" or 10.25" touchscreen display of certain Ski-Doo models, or as a standalone app if your snowmobile isn’t equipped with one. Continue reading to learn how to make the most of this app!

Before your Ride

Before taking a ride on your Ski-Doo sled, follow the steps below in the app to maximize your experience when you’re out on the trails or in the mountains.

Download Areas for Offline Riding

Downloading specific map sections for offline GPS navigation is a must before going out for a ride.

It’s essential to pre-download a map area to maintain access to navigation features in case your cell phone signal weakens during your ride. The only features that won’t function without a cellular network connection are locating your friends on the map and saving custom locations, as these rely on cellular connectivity.

Please note:
- To download an area, you must have an Internet connection;
- You can only download an area in the default layer (Standard).

From the Settings tab:
1- In the Navigation section, go to the SETTINGS tab;
2- Press ADD in the "Offline Areas" section;
3- Zoom and/or pan the map to select your area. The app will estimate and display the area's download size;
4- Press DOWNLOAD;
*You can rename or delete your offline area by pressing on it from the SETTINGS tab.

From the RIDES tab:
1- Execute the steps to create an itinerary and SAVE your ride;
2- Go to the Itineraries section;
3- Press the DOWNLOAD button;
4- Once the download is completed, a check mark icon will appear next to your ride.

You can consult all your offline areas from the "MAP DETAILS" menu (icon at the top right in the Maps tab).

Plan your Trip

Planning your itineraries ensures you don’t miss any points of interest and allows you to schedule fuel stops on your snow adventures. When creating an itinerary, you’ll access turn-by-turn navigation and view the remaining ride distance. You can locate points of interest such as gas stations, restaurants and accommodations.

You can also plan off-trail excursions by manually adding waypoints to the map, which will automatically connect to form an itinerary. When venturing off-trail, please remember to stay within official riding areas or on privately owned land. Check out our Responsible Rider program to learn more about preserving our winter playgrounds.

During your Ride

Take your Ski-Doo ride to the next level by following these steps during your ride:

Pair your Phone

The first step is connecting to BRP GO! on your Ski-Doo display.

If your Ski-Doo snowmobile is equipped with a 7.8" or 10.25" display, you can connect your phone and use the BRP GO! app directly on it. Navigate effortlessly through the app using the control module or touchscreen, which ensure an integrated, seamless experience.

Once you’re ready to hit the trails, connect your phone to start using BRP GO! on your sled’s display. Keep in mind that the connection process varies based on your display model.

If your vehicle lacks either of these displays, we recommend using the Ski-Doo Glovebox Extension/Cell Phone Holder. Its door offers ideal positioning and secure mounting, and even keeps your phone warm on cold days.

The connection process will vary depending on the display model of your Ski-Doo snowmobile.

10.25" Touchscreen Display
1- Download the BRP GO! app on your phone.
2- Make sure that your phone is unlocked and that the BRP GO! app is open on your device.
3- Connect your phone to the vehicle via the USB cable (the USB connector is located in the glovebox). Once the connection is successful, a black screen will appear on your phone.
4- Open the "Navigation" app on your vehicle display.

Please note that with the 10.25" display there is no need to pair your phone to the vehicle via Bluetooth to use BRP Connect. Only a USB connection is required.

7.8" Wide LCD Color Display
1- Download the BRP GO! app on your phone.
2- Pair your phone to your vehicle display via Bluetooth (see next question for steps).
3- Make sure that your phone is unlocked and that the BRP GO! app is open on your device.
4- Connect your phone to the vehicle via the USB cable (the USB connector is located in the glovebox). Once the connection is successful, a black screen will appear on your phone.
5- Open "BRP Connect" on your vehicle display (by selecting "BRP Connect" in the main menu or by pressing the "Phone" button on the keypad).

Here is a video that summarizes all the steps of the connection process.

Start your BRP GO! ride

Ready to go? It’s time to launch your BRP GO! ride on your phone or vehicle display. There are two ways to start a ride in BRP GO!

1. Start a ride with an itinerary: These are rides that you have created on the mobile app, like routes from point A to point B. You can invite friends or groups to join you on your rides, which appear in the “Itineraries” tab in the “Rides” section of the application;

2. Begin a recorded ride: If you’d like to record your trip without a planned route in mind, simply click on the RECORD RIDE button on the map to begin recording your breadcrumb (a yellow line that will display where you are riding). This mode is perfect for those who like to venture off-trails, like mountain riders, and just want to track their path.

1- On your phone or vehicle display (when connected), go to RIDES
2- Select your ride from the itineraries list
3- Press START

*To start an itinerary from your vehicle display, you must first have created a ride and saved it from your phone.

1- On the MAPS screen, press the RECORD RIDE button
2- Press START

Connect with your friends and share your location

Make sure you stay on track with your friends at all time with a connected experience. With the BRP GO! app, you can connect to a group and share your real-time location on the map.

Please note that this feature only works when you are connected to a cellular network. If your friends lose their connection, their associated icon will become grey and remain in their last recorded location. Their position will be updated once they regain connection to a cellular network.

On the Maps screen, click the group button in the lower left corner of the screen.

1- Select the group you wish to join
2- Press CONNECT
3- Click the icon next to CONNECT at the bottom right of the screen to share your location.Your friends will now be able to see where you are on the map.
4- To remove your location, press DISCONNECT

*Please note that this feature requires cellular network to work properly.

Explore Map Details

BRP GO! offers several map options to cater to your preferences:

  • Zoom in/out: adapt your screen to your eyesight for optimal visibility;
  • Lock north up: keep your map orientation facing north, like a paper map;
  • Trails legend: learn the trails status, whether they are available, limited, unavailable or unknown;
  • Map style: choose between standard, satellite or offline map view;
  • 2D or 3D: view your surroundings with a 2D bird’s-eye view or a 3D street-level perspective;
  • Display mode: customize your map’s appearance with light or dark mode.

On mobile
Use your fingers to pinch the screen inward or outward, depending on wether you want to zoom in or out.

On the 7.8" display or 10.25" display
Use the dedicated "+" and "-" buttons to zoom in or out.

Click on the North compass button (“N” ) at the top right of the screen, below the map details. To deactivate the function, click a second time on the button.

You can learn more about the status of trails by clicking the Map Details button in the upper-right corner of the Maps screen. Colors on snowmobile trails represent the trail status. Here's what each color means:

- Green: The trail is available (open);
- Yellow dotted: The trail has limited availability (open, but not optimal). Snowmobilers enter with the understanding that they should exercise extreme care and reduce speed;
- Red dotted: The trail is unavailable (closed);
- Blue: The trail status is unknown. Depending on trail conditions, the trail could be open or closed, but we don't know the official status.

Trail status is defined by the snowmobile club or association in the region concerned. For the moment, the visibility of trail status is only available in some regions.

On the Maps screen, click the Map Details button at the top right of the screen and select your preferred map style between Standard, Satellite or Offline.

Please note:
- It is not possible to use the Satellite mode while riding. You can only select this map style when you’re using the BRP GO! app before your ride;
- Satellite layer is also not yet available for download for offline use.

On the Maps screen, click the Map Details button at the top right of the screen and activate the Map in 3D View option. If the 3D View Option is deactivated, the map will display a 2D view.

On your phone
The display mode must be changed from your phone's Settings (Display & Brightness). The app will automatically take the phone's display mode.

On your vehicle's display
When your phone (and BRP GO!) is connected to your display, the app will automatically take the vehicle's display mode.
- On the 7.8" display: Go to Menu > Settings > Display > Mode
- On the 10.25" display: Go to Applet Menu > Preferences > Display > Appearance

After your Ride

Your adventure doesn’t have to end here. Keep previous rides in the loop by checking your riding stats or relieving past rides.

Check your riding stats

Consult your riding stats; after each ride, key stats are saved in the BRP GO! app. Check total ride time, moving time, average speed, distance traveled as well as maximum and minimum altitudes. These stats are available at any time since they are saved to your account.

When you completed a ride in the app, the riding statistics will be shown on the mobile app.

You can view the statistics at any time by going to: "RIDES" section > "Completed" tab > Select the ride you want to view the statistics.

Duplicate past rides

If you experienced an epic ride and want to relive it, BRP GO! allows you to revisit past rides, whether they are created itineraries or recorded rides:

  • Recorded rides (with breadcrumb): When you duplicate this type of ride, you will be able to see the previous path (breadcrumb) on the map in a different color, making it easy to revisit the exact same location;
  • Rides created with an itinerary: You can simply go to your itineararies, select the one you want to start again, and press START to follow the same route and hit the same waypoints.

1- From the RIDES tab, select Completed. You will see all the rides you have completed so far.
2- Select the ride you want to start again
3- Select DUPLICATE
4- Consult the ride parameters. If necessary, rename the ride, download it or add new participants.
5- Press START to start your ride, or press the back arrow if you plan to leave at another time
